Krispies announce Fish and Fun Charity Day

27th February 2016, 11.30am until 1500 portions are sold

In February 2016, award winning Krispies Fish and Chip Shop, Exmouth, Devon will will have been in business for 15 happy years and owners, Kelly and Tim Barnes wanted to celebrate in style by giving something back to the community who have served them so well over the years by having an event and selling their award winning Fish and Chips for only £3 a portion!

Kelly explains the method behind this madness “A birthday is always a good excuse to celebrate. We are passionate about what we do and we want to use this opportunity to spread the word about how great fish is, have some fun, but most importantly raise a significant sum of money for charity.”

So on Saturday 27th February 2016 Krispies will be having a Family Fish and Fun Charity Day. The shop will open at 11.30am and it will ONLY have Fish and Chips on the menu and they will be at the very special celebration price of £3 for both adults and children alike and EVERY SINGLE PENNY TAKEN ON THE DAY WILL GO TO CHARITY.

Kelly and Tim’s chosen charity is Vranch House School in Exeter, a unique charity that provides care, education, training and treatment for physically disabled children. The school is currently fund raising for a much needed renovation of their hydrotherapy pool, an essential tool for treatment of children with physical and painful conditions and Kelly and Tim are delighted that ALL the money will go to this very good cause.

“To ensure we raise as much money as possible” says Tim “we have set ourselves and the incredible goal of selling 1,500 portions. That’s 100 portions for every year in business and three times as many meals we have ever served before in a day.”

The whole thing has been made possible by extremely generous donations from key suppliers to Krispies including Friers Pride, Williams Potatoes of Exeter and Middleton Foods, T.Quality and last but not least, all of Krispies staff will all be working for free on the day.

“Without the kindness and support of our suppliers and staff the event would not be possible and we would not be able to be so generous to Vranch House School” says Kelly. “To raise as much money as possible and sell all 1,500 portions it will be a busy day but don’t be put off as we have laid on face painting, balloons and more to keep everyone entertained.”

So, put the date – 27th February 2016 – in your diary and come on down to Krispies for some fun, some Fish and Chips (for only £3) and to help raise money for charity. Remember EVERY SINGLE PENNY RAISED ON THE DAY GOES TO CHARITY so please feel free to pay a bit more for your Fish and Chips if you can.

One word of advice. Don’t leave it too late in the day, once 1,500 portions have been sold Krispies will have run out of Fish and Chips so the shop will be closed for the rest of the day no matter what the time is.
