Name Joshua Priston
What is your job title? Fryer
What does that mean? This means I work to deliver quality products from chips to chicken nuggets to the vast array of fish we sell at Krispies.
Where are you from? I'm originally from Fleet but I moved down to Exmouth from Basingstoke.
How long have you been working for Krispies? I've been working at Krispies for just over one month.
What is the best thing about your job? The best thing about my job is the team. I get to work with such a good bunch of people and everyone made me feel welcome from day one. The atmosphere even when the shop is super busy is amazing, it's more like a second family.
What does winning Best Fish and Chip Shop in the UK 2019 mean to you? Winning Best Fish and Chip Shop of the year means we aren't just a great fish and chip shop, I believe we are the best and we always deliver our best regardless of how busy the shop can be.
What’s your favourite thing on Krispies menu? My favourite dish on the menu would have to be the double bacon cheeseburger with fried onions and relish or the salt and pepper squid.
Are you Battered, Traditional or Mixed? I love the battered chips but I enjoy having mixed as you get the best of both worlds.
Who are your favourite sports team or band? My favourite football team is Exeter City, I've supported them since I was seven and try to go to as many home games as I can, and my favourite band is Slipknot but I enjoy all types of music.
What is your favourite thing to do with a lazy, sunny afternoon? My favourite thing on a lazy Sunday would be to see my niece and nephew as I enjoy spending time with them.
What makes Krispies different from other take aways? Krispies has such a vast choice on the menu not just fish and chips, the staff make it outstanding with their friendly customer service and they make you feel comfortable as soon as you walk in the door. Working for Krispies makes it even better as you already know everyone but even when you walk past the shop on a day off, everyone waves and says hello and it makes it feel more like a second home than a job.
